Mustang Sailing is the South East's leading sailing school. We are an RYA recognised school with a training centre near Lewes in Central Sussex, and yachts operating out of Haslar Marina in Portsmouth.

Sailing Courses: Shorebased Theory in Sussex

We teach navigation and seamanship in our classrooms: RYA Day Skipper theory, Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Offshore theory and Yachtmaster Ocean. In addition we teach all the RYA one-day specialist courses, Sea Survival, Offshore Safety, VHF / DSC Radio, First Aid, Diesel Engine Maintenance, and Radar.

Sailing Courses: Practical training in the Solent and beyond

Our practical sailing courses: RYA Competent Crew, RYA Day Skipper, RYA Coastal Skipper and RYA Yachtmaster prep take place in the Solent and surrounding waters. Milebuilding trips take us all over, including across the English Channel to France.

Own Boat & One to One Tuition

We can come to you and train you on your own vessel, own-boat tuition is the fast, focussed way to build skills, or we can come to your home or office and deliver bespoke theory courses.

Getting to our training centre is easy, we are a ten minute taxi ride from Lewes Railway station and we are well connected by road for students coming from Kent, London and the South Coast, close to Brighton, Newhaven and Eastbourne.

Accommodation to suit all tastes is available nearby, practical courses are residential - you stay on the boat.
