RYA Competent Crew - Competent crew courses are held in the Solent, we operate from Haslar Marina, Gosport.
- RYA Theory courses are held at our Central Sussex Training Centre at Ringmer, nr Lewes.
Competent Crew courses are run alongside other RYA practical sailing courses. You could be training in the company of Dayskippers, Coastal Skippers or Yachtmaster exam candidates. By the end of the course you should be able to steer, handle sails, keep a lookout, row a dinghy and assist in the day to day routines onboard. The course duration is normally five days but if taken alongside Coastal skipper or Yachtmaster candidates it could stretch to six or seven days, no extra charge is levied for the extra time. Dates for Competent Crew: September 21 - 26 October 26 - 31 November 16 - 21 December 14 - 19 First day is a Sunday, we join the boat late afternoon, settle in, get going the next morning.
