Welcome to Mustang Sailing

Mustang Sailing is the South East's leading sailing school. We are an RYA recognised training centre teaching shorebased theory at our training centre near Lewes in Central Sussex, and we sail out of Universal Marina on the Hamble river.

Theory Courses: Shorebased in Sussex

We teach navigation and seamanship in our classrooms: RYA Day Skipper theory, Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Offshore theory and Yachtmaster Ocean. In addition we offer all of the RYA one-day specialist courses, Sea Survival, Offshore Safety, VHF / DSC Radio, First Aid, Diesel Engine Maintenance, and Radar.

Sailing Courses: Practical training in the Solent and beyond

Our practical sailing courses: RYA Competent Crew, RYA Day Skipper, RYA Coastal Skipper and RYA Yachtmaster prep take place in the Solent and surrounding waters. Milebuilding trips take us all over, including across the English Channel to France. Available at the weekend and during the week our practical courses are run on a well kept, spacious yacht with a maximum of four students to a course.

Sailing for fun: Relaxed days out in the Solent and beyond

Sailing for the fun of it, no agenda or syllabus to follow. Just come along and enjoy a day on the water. Participate as much or as little as you please. Affordable and accessible leisure sailing. Think of it as going sailing with your friends. Call to discuss dates, no silly charges for organising something just for you.

Own Boat & One to One Tuition

We can come to you and train you on your own vessel, own-boat tuition is the fast, focussed way to build skills, or we can come to your home or office and deliver bespoke theory courses.

Vouchers

Any of our courses can be paid for in full or part with one of our vouchers. Available to any value, or for a specific course or event.  

Travel & Accommodation

Getting to our training centre is easy, we are a ten minute taxi ride from Lewes Railway station and we are well connected by road for students coming from Kent, London and the South Coast, close to Brighton, Newhaven and Eastbourne. International students should fly into London Gatwick, there is a direct rail link to Lewes.

Accommodation to suit all tastes is available nearby. Practical courses are residential - you stay on the boat.
